Google adds Twitter option to its Google Friend Connect service. This means that when you join a Friend Connected site, you can choose to use your Twitter profile, discover people you follow on Twitter who are also members of the site, and quickly tweet that you have found a cool website.

To send a tweet about a site you have joined, click the invite link in the members gadget, then click the Twitter icon on the share tab. The next time your followers sign in to Twitter, they’ll see a your tweet containing a link to the interesting site you’ve found.

This integration with Twitter is an example of how we want to continue improving Friend Connect, extending the open social web and bringing social features to more places on the web.

Google has release a new kind of feature for us poor web master who can’t or possibly too lazy to create a social networking on their website. Its a kind of widget you can put up on your website which acts as a social networking section where people can register. Now, as interaction with visitors are a nice way to keep them stick to your site, it increases the traffic and hopefully .. $$ . With the announcement of Google Chrome, came another browser news, the IE8 beta 2 is now available for download. One of the main features added to this version of Internet Explorer is the Privacy feature. Microsoft has in fact applied for a trademark on the term, which it explains as “Computer programmes for disabling the history of web cashing features of web browser and notifying the user of a web browser when others are tracking web use and for controlling the information others can access about such use.”
It simply means, the new IE enables its users to delete websites they visited and cookies they downloaded. If they stumble on sites which try to snoop on their activities, they are warned and will be able to block such attempts.
Microsoft also tweaked IE to cut the time and the number of clicks to perform common tasks. It has quickened search by trying to second guess what you are looking for even as you make every key stroke. Visual elements have been integrated into basic search . The new explorer can be downloaded to all PC’s running Windows Vista, Server 2003 or XP which has been updated with Service pack 3.

Google released a free Web browser called Chrome that the company said would challenge Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, as well as the Firefox browser. All though many of its features are inspired inspired by Firefox and uses Apple Webkit, Open Source Framework.

In a curious twist, Google made its online announcement after its plans appeared as a digital “comic book” that was posted by Google.

Google already competes with Microsoft in online search and Internet advertising. They both make operating software for cellphones. Google is increasingly competing with Microsoft head-on in software that handles basic productivity like word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and e-mail programs. Google has Web-based software in these markets that are low-cost or free alternatives to Microsoft’s lucrative desktop software.

Digsby is a proprietary multiprotocol instant messaging application developed by dotSyntax, LLC. Digsby is written in wxPython and uses Webkit for rendering. It currently supports e-mail notifications and alerts from MySpace, Facebook and Twitter.
It is released under a proprietary license and is currently free to download though the developers and software company are looking at various business models to earn revenue. It needs registration, which can be done through the program’s installer or through a web interface. Digsby currently supports only Windows, but has announced mac & Linux support.
