biznik : Promote your Business, find a partner

Biznik is to business what indie film is to cinema: it’s independent business with an edge. As a group we tend to value originality and forward-thinking over the tried, the true and the traditional. But don’t let our independence fool you - we’re urban-minded collaborators, and know that helping each other is the fastest (and most fun) way to grow our businesses. Its is independent business collaboration with an edge. Biznik is the place where you meet new individuals who are professionals in their own respective fields.
The Biznik Blog
We’re blogging about the development of Biznik, and about our interesting members, virtually every day in the collaborative Biznik Blog.
Biz Talk
A custom built hybrid between a forum and a blog, Biz Talk provides members with a place to post comments, start discusssions, announce specials and get the word out about their services.
Podcast
Join co-hosts Chris Haddad and Dan McComb and we interview interesting members, talk about upcoming events, dispense pearls of indie business wisdom, and much more. Check it out.
Biznik Promotions
Many Bizniks feel an affinity with one another and many members have chosen to extend a special promotion to other Bizniks. To view the Promotions, you need to become a member first. Did we mention it’s free to join?
Biznik Events
Biznik is event-centric rather than chapter-centric. We’re currently pushing four different kinds of events: happy hours, breakfast/lunch meetings, member-hosted educational events, and the Biznik Book Club. The next three upcoming events are listed on the homepage, and a complete list of upcoming events is always on the Events Calendar.
Biz Pods
There have been a lot of requests for us to create a way for members to start something like an “interest group” or “affinity group.” We’re calling them Biz Pods. We’re well beyond the concept phase with this and close to launching Biz Pods, so if you’ve got some ideas you’d like to share, speak now! So far, we imagine providing members with the tools to start their own group, govern who can be a member of their group, and choose their own focus or agenda. Some Biz Pods may behave like an accountability group, while others may look more like a book club or small business support network. Biz Pods will be required to have 5 members at a time. They will be given their own page to publish their intent on and will be given access to the events publisher in order to announce their meetings.
