Pixoh is an amazing creation built with Twisted and MochiKit. It allows editing of pictures online within no time ofcourse using AJAX, A perfect example of Web 2.0 ;) . Though it now offers only few tools to work with, to name a few, “UNDO, REDO, CORP, ROTATE“. The save option enables the image to be saved in different file formats like JPG, PNG, PDF, PSD, TIF or save to Flickr
Key features:
- Edit big images—up to 10 MB, or 5000×5000 pixels
- Import pictures from any web site (including Flickr) with our bookmarklet
- Flickr export, or save as GIF, JPG, PDF, PNG, or TIF
- Basic editing tools like crop, rotate, resize—many more are in the works
- Unlimited undo and redo (Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y, or ⌘Z and ⌘Y on your Mac)
- Nondestructive scaling, rotating, and cropping—we always work from the original
- Image adjustments (beta feature)
Pixoh is now Snipshot
AJAXPress as per its hompage is a web 2.0 blogging system written in Javascript with a PHP backend. Works on any webserver with PHP and MySQL installed. In order to properly view and use AJAXPress blogs, you must be using Internet Explorer 6.0 or FireFox 1.5 or greater.
Now I don’t see any Search Engine Optimization (SEO) done there, so if a bot comes to the blog with AJAXPress, it will only have access to the homepage, still its pretty clean code with nice interface. Corporates and not so SEO conscious may like it ;) .
AJAXPress aims to be a very minimal, but very usable, AJAX powered blogging system. AJAXPress is focused on ease of use, web standards, and speed. AJAXPress is not full of unnecessary features that just confuse the user. AJAXPress is light, fast, and simple. And best of all, it’s 100% free open source!
Backbase, a website that makes rich AJAX applications has enabled AJAX in Y! Search or say it has built an AJAX Search powered by Y! Search ;) .
The Backbase Presentation Client (BPC) is an AJAX engine based entirely on AJAX technology, and differentiates itself via a generic User Interface declaration language (BXML). BXML is a XML application that also includes many XSLT and XPath functions. BXML is interpreted by the AJAX engine, and translated to native DOM commands in the browser. The Backbase AJAX Engine is developed in JavaScript, and it works in Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Firefox and soon also in Opera and Safari. It does not require any type of plug-in, which differentiates Backbase from other RIA vendors.

Ajax, as you all know is something that is used in most of the new and exciting application released on the web nowdays, Web 2.0 to be precise. Professional Ajax, lights up most the area needed for a web developer to get started with AJAX. The book does a good job academically of showing how Ajax has evolved and how it is used in Web 2.0 applications. The book effectively cites examples in PHP, .NET, and JavaServer Pages. Practically, the authors exhibit a proper mix of (X)HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Dynamic HTML and XmlHttpRequests, showing how the technologies are blended for developing next-gen UIs. The first few chapters have enough information to get a novice started with AJAX.

AjaxTagsHave a look at http://ajaxtags.no-ip.info/, it shows few nice examples for basic ajac development. (.jsp)
The AJAX Tag Library is a set of JSP tags that simplify the use of Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) technology in JavaServer Pages.
AJAX is primarily rooted in JavaScript. However, many server-side developers do not have an extensive knowledge of client-side programming in the browser. It’s much easier in some cases for J2EE developers, especially, to simply add a JSP tag to the page to gain the function desired.

Windows Live Local : A simple superb creation from Microsoft. It is based on the Microsoft Map ,but a bit more interesting. The service will initially target San Francisco and Seattle only due to the massive number of images needed to support make it work .
It offers fabulous views , a Race car , Sports car and simple walking view. The zoom can be controled by scroller of the mouse . While at some level it offers few superb snaps of the city on the above portion of the map.
When in the Car mode, browse through the page while dragging the car or use arrow keys, when the head light is switched on the image infront of the car, will be shown in the above portion. Its like playing a game. :)
Simply Marvelous !
