Flagr Sharewhere, Launched : Share from anywhere in the world
Flagr is a small web startup operating out of San Francisco, It is built on open source softwares like Ruby on Rails, VIM, Lighttpd and uses Google Maps API to track places.
Getting “orders to flag” from mobiles is interesting,
- Start a new Text or Picture Message and address it to:
x@flagr.com - In the message body, type the title, address, and a description of what you’re flagging in this format:
title@address…description - Send it. Your flag will show up on your map within seconds.
The founders believed there should be an easy way for EVERYONE to share where they go, while on the go. Such a system would not be limited to use with fancy GPS-enabled mobile phones. Instead, it would rely on the already-popular text messaging infrastructure available on almost every cell phone. With such a system, users previously excluded from such services can take part in an extraordinary social experience. They can Sharewhere, anywhere.

Nice, though nowdays Web Applications with Google Maps sounds boring :/
