Zervaas explains how to create sortable lists with PHP and Ajax, it’s the drag drop sytem like in common ajax desktops like pageflakes, netvibes .

This article covers the implementation of a system that lets you easily define the order of such a list.

Traditionally, implementations of such functionality involve you clicking a “move up”, “move down”, “move to top”, or “move to bottom” button that switches the order the items (one item at a time). Or perhaps each item has a text box with a number in it, that by changing the numbers you can change the order of the list.

CompWisdom is new topic-based search engine which provides meaningful results which are relevant to the topic of computing, programming and the Internet. The Idea is to categorize pages from the World Wide Web into Technology and related topics. CompWisdom is indeed a time saver as it provides a clean summary, which you can read from beginning to end. EgoSurf is an interesting website that assigns ranks based on certain keyword you search upon. It searches few search engines like Yahoo, MSN, del.icio.us and Technorati . The higher the links higher the points. I got some 8500 points for Sreejith and Sr-Ultimate.com.

SVG Terminal, was released on 21`st. SVG terminal is a Javascript module for Firefox 1.5 that enables apps to deliver rich views on network screens”

The SVG Terminal package includes a simple demonstration app, and source licensed under the GPL. The demo app has only been tested on Windows to date, but should compile on Linux & MacOS X with minor changes. The javascript code requires Firefox 1.5. Future releases will provide text wrapping and highlighting, and soon airWRX will show off the real power of the SVG Terminal.

Though it comes in AJAX category the codes are different in few ways: The UI is described entirely in SVG, instead of HTML. Almost no input processing is done by the browser. The browser maintains a connection to the server, rather than performing discrete XML-HTTP transactions.

Long time rumoured , Google Pages is unofficially out . Rich in AJAX and clean user interface. Have some time to spare ? You just need a Google account you can enjoy this feature :) .
Google Pages, allows users to create webpages on browser using Ajaxed WYSIWYG editor. The use of limited yet usefull tools in the editor is impressive.

I tried creating a my own page on it to see how it works, you can check it at http://me.sreejith.googlepages.com/ . With ove 40 design selections it sure is a boon for the n00bs. Though i do think that this may lead to a better service like creation of CMS, domain addition etc.

This I think was the longest wait for PageRank update. Jagger, Big Daddy … all was confusing the webmasters from last few months. I noticed updates on few datacenters … 216.239.53.104 , 66.102.7.99, 66.102.7.147, 66.102.7.105 … This ofcourse will be a great news for the webmasters.

I have collected a few tools to check pagerank in various ways, various data centers. Please do note that different tools listed use different datacenters so the result may vary and I suggest you check once in google toolbar . It is normal that it shows different pagerank in different datacenters, In the past it’s usually lasted a few days and then they all gave out the same PR.
