Internet Explorer pays more Firefox users ignore online ads
Internet Explorer users are at least four times as likely to click on Web ads than Firefox users, a German advertising technology company said last week. :(
David Hallowell, a Mozilla contributor, said this trend may have emerged because nontechnical Web surfers, who tend to be IE users, are more likely to click on pop-up ads by mistake, because they think the ad is a system dialog box.
I totally agree with that statement lol, only fools use IE ^_^.
Its really true , remember when the old days we used to surf and used to click on everything we get ? Even now many people click the ads in search engines which they misunderstand for search results. And ofcourse, the more knowledge about the tech side lesser will be the clicks on Ads. Still I think there will be enough newbie’s to click as time goes :p. Ah I just remembered a quote which is a bit similar.
“Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.” - Rich Cook.

People with Firefox installed are more net savvy and thus have learned to mentally block out the ads better.

I had seen this article on digg. people are moving to FF slowly , so this percent should drop in the near future.

I guess you wouldn’t want them clicking on the AdSense ads that you’ve here, right? ;) :P
Its not only fools who use IE, anyone making that statement can’t be considered more than an ignorant idiot I would say(not to offend anyone though). :) Just because FireFox is free & techy doesn’t mean its better & everyone should move to it. For most people IE works ok, so they don’t find any reason to switch. No need for silly themes that over-work the CPU or extensions that are of no use to you. Its only a matter of choice.
And as for adblocking, well, soon those FireFox users will find themselves being blocked off & denied access to sites if they are found using an AdBlock extension to block a site’s ads. Its already started & will definitely pick up momentum as publishers wouldn’t want to give their content & pay for bandwidth for some dork who’s not gonna earn them a dime!! :)
