I always wanted to post this but got delayed . Well, We all like monitoring our website stats . But ..

Say you get visitors from search engine’s for certain keywords “Cheap but fast ford cars” . You apply remotely hosted stat counter for monitoring your website stats . after a few weeks suddenly all the traffic comes down drastically ! you see the search stats and find you are dropped to 7-8`th page of search results .

Well the main reason behind this is stealing of keywords, take any remotely hosted website, e.g extremetracking.com , now searh google for the pages from extremetracking.com site:http://extremetracking.com . You will see hundreds of pages with referrer pages shown openly ! anyone can steal your keywords and paste at their site and if your site is less important, you will loose visitors to them .

Suggestion :
1. Either choose fot private stats counter from same website . or Free Google Analytics
2. Choose another website which offer you private stats monitoring for free.
3. Choose to monitor stats from your own website/server, like Awstats, Webalizer etc.
